Two new photos leak from the set of The Mandalorian season 3

Uncategorized

Finally, Star Wars actors are beginning filming for The Mandalorian season 3. While the series has aired back to back in 2019 and 2020, this year, we’re going without a new season of The Mandalorian due to The Book of Boba Fett arriving on Disney+ instead. So, we’ve got probably well over a year to wait before season 3. But at least we know filming has actually commenced for the fan-favorite series.

We got one confirmation about that from Greef Karga himself, Carl Weathers, who should have begun filming this week. That’s, at least, according to a tweet he shared on Oct. 12, saying he would begin filming The Mandalorian season 3 the next day. Though, alas, not even a few days since filming began for the actors, and we can report that there are already two new photos that have leaked from the set.

As spotted by the Star Wars Leaks subreddit, the original set leak photos come from Jason Ward of The Making Star Wars Show. On the show, you can see the two photos he says he captured when he went to visit The Mandalorian set. The video was posted on Oct. 11, just a day before Weathers revealed that he would begin filming this week.

While we won’t share the photos here, you can see them in the Making Star Wars YouTube video beginning around the 4:15 mark. In the first photo, you see large blue-screen walls set up outside where trees have been placed. And instead of using practical effects to create the scene, it looks like they will be using digital effects to fill in whatever planet location they are trying to create.

In the next photo he captured, a crew is seen taking down a pod of some sort. It almost looks like an escape capsule, with three walls around it and it’s back completely open. What this object is is anyone’s guess. And it’s possible the object can even be a moveable piece of something larger. But either way, it’s good to see production underway for The Mandalorian season 3. And it makes next year’s season feel all the more real.
