Nene Leaks reunited with her former Real House Wives, a castmate in Atlanta, on Monday.
But she did so for the most unfortunate reason.
Jumping on her Instagram, Leaks took place in Georgia and shared photos from her late husband’s monument featuring attendees such as Kim Zolchak, Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey.
As previously reported Greg Leaks died of cancer At the age of 66 last week.
“It took me a whole day to decide whether to post a photo of Greg’s Celebration Of Life ceremony,” Leaks wrote on Tuesday as a caption to the photo above. “What a celebration!”
“Thank you everyone.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I love Greg very much and miss him a lot. I will continue to grow stronger and celebrate his life.”
In her Instagram story, NeNe shared more Bravolebrities images gathered in her Linnethia lounge-Porsha Williams, Marlo Hampton, Eva Marcille, Drew Sidora and more.
She concluded her statement as follows:
“I love Greg very much and miss him a lot.
“I will continue to grow stronger and celebrate his life.”
NeNe and Gregg first married in 1997 and divorced in 2011.
The couple remarried in June 2013 and shared a 22-year-old son named Brent Leaks.
Greg was initially diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2018.
He had been in remission for two years after the cancer had recurred and before being hospitalized for six weeks earlier this year.
“Difficult,” NeNe admitted while checking development on Instagram Live.
“He’s very small. If you’ve been around someone who has had cancer before, he’s not. He’s not.”
On September 1st, a family friend announced that Greg had died … a few days after NeNe told his fans that it was just around the corner.
In a statement at the time, spokeswoman and longtime family friend Ernest Dukes said:
“Today, the Leaks family is in deep pain with a broken heart.
“After a long battle with cancer, Greg Leaks died peacefully in his home surrounded by all his children, a very close loved one, and his wife NeNe Leakes.
“We pray for the peace and strength of their families and allow them to personally mourn during this very difficult time.”
In November 2018, NeNe published in People Magazine how her spouse’s cancer diagnosis had a significant impact on her loved ones.
“To find out that Greg has cancer? Our lives changed that day,” the reality star / actress said at the time.
“The whole of our routine has changed. But … everything has changed. I don’t have cancer. Greg has cancer.
“But I feel like the whole house is cancerous.”
Added NeNe a little less than 3 years ago:
“He’s a weird person, his attitude has changed.
“I feel like I lost my husband that day. Our overall dynamics have changed. Sometimes I forget that he is ill.
“He’s not a good person, but he can’t help it.”
Following Greg’s death, Bravo producer Andy Cohen said on Twitter that he was crushed by the loss of a “great man” in honor of Greg.
“I jokingly called him” Rev. Leak, “but in reality he was a strong voice of reason and a great respect among the entire #RHOA team,” the talk show organizer wrote.
“I am sending love and power to the whole family of @neneleakes and Leakes.”
